Chilean company buys stays in Patagonia flouting Argentine laws

A Chilean company has been accused of a controversial land purchase in Argentine Patagonia, triggering a complaint for alleged violation of national laws on the acquisition of large properties by foreigners.

They cover more than 60,000 hectares of virgin nature, including 12,544 hectares of native forest and the presence of six large mighty rivers.

According to the accusations, the Chilean family behind the luxury tourism group Explora made an irregular acquisition of three Patagonian ranches of exceptional natural beauty.
