Although no injuries have been reported, last Friday the 6th, the Dash 8 Q400 operated by the Chilean company Aerovías DAP suffered a “ tailstrike” when landing at the Guardiamarina Zañartu Aerodrome in Puerto Williams.
On Monday, through the social network X, user @cesar_quezada shared a video where the DAP Dash 8 aircraft can be seen suffering a blow to the tail when landing on runway 26 of the Guardiamarina Zañartu Aerodrome in Puerto Williiams.

According to Flightradar24 , the aircraft took off from Punta Arenas at around 10:23 a.m. and landed at around 11:07 a.m. in the capital of the Chilean Antarctic province.
Quezada also shared a photograph showing the damage to the fuselage caused by the impact on the runway. The plane was stopped at the airfield and is awaiting inspection by the engineers in charge. The causes of the incident will be investigated by the authorities and at the moment there are still no details available about what could have caused this unfortunate event.
A recent addition to the Aerovías DAP fleet, the Dash 8 Q400 was presented on July 15 at the Presidente Carlos Ibáñez del Campo Airport in Punta Arenas .
The aircraft was delivered on May 5, 2011 with registration N447QX to the American airline Alaska Airlines , being operated by its regional subsidiary Horizon Air until June 8, 2023, according to Planespotters.net.
