Details of the exercises that Argentina will carry out aboard the US aircraft carrier were known.

Maritime surveillance of the exclusive economic zone, air defense and attack on coastal and surface targets are some of the actions that more than 3,000 North American sailors will carry out along with 300 Argentine naval personnel, aboard the imposing aircraft carrier USS George Washington.

“Tactical maneuvers and anti-submarine and anti-aircraft exercises, and training in Naval Techniques and Tactics,” are some of the details provided by the National Government.

Details of the activities that the US aircraft carrier USS George Washington will carry out together with personnel from the Argentine Navy on May 29 and 30 in Mar del Plata were known.

According to Infobae, there will be around 300 Argentine soldiers who will participate in the military maneuvers that include our own and North American naval resources , with war strategies and tactical training in the Exclusive Economic Zone of our country.

With a crew of 3,200 , the nuclear aircraft carrier USS George Washington will lead “ tactical maneuvers and anti-submarine, anti-aircraft exercises , Visit, Search and Capture (VRC), transfer of cargo and personnel and, among other activities, Training in Naval Techniques and Tactics ” .

The intervention area will be the Argentine Sea, a little more than 95 kilometers from the city of Mar del Plata . The objective will be “maritime surveillance of the exclusive economic zone (sea control); the attack on surface targets, guided by a Fennec helicopter, which will also be part of the exercises; air defense and attack on coastal or surface targets".

The operation is deployed within the framework of the actions of the US Southern Command and will be carried out by the Fourth Fleet of that country. Joint activities are planned with military and naval forces from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay .

The Minister of Defense, Luis Petri, would board the flagship warship of the United States Navy and President Javier Milei could do the same if his government agenda allows it.
