For the second time this year, the Province of Tierra del Fuego AIAS served as a logistical support base for the Brazilian Antarctic Program (PROANTAR) , a program of the Navy of the Federative Republic of Brazil with a presence on the Antarctic continent.
It is Operation number 12 carried out in the city of Ushuaia, thanks to the coordinated work of the Secretariat of Malvinas, Antarctica, South Atlantic Islands and International Affairs, the Joint Antarctic Command and the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil.
On this occasion, PROANTAR's mission included air launches to supply the Comandante Ferraz Antarctic Base, belonging to Brazil. During this year, the Province is expected to provide two more logistical support services.
In this regard, the Secretary of Malvinas, Antarctica, South Atlantic Islands and International Affairs of the provincial government, Andrés Dachary , stated that he was "very satisfied with the realization of a new mission of the Brazilian Antarctic Program, using the city as the epicenter of its activities. of Ushuaia.”
At the same time, he pointed out that thanks to “the integration we have with the Antarctic Joint Command and the coordination with the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil in Argentina, we were able to provide all the necessary logistics.”
“The possibility that the authorities of the Brazilian Antarctic Program could have different meetings with key actors in the private sector of our province was also very important, and we are very happy to be able to continue adding logistical solutions in everything that has to do with the connection between continents” , he concluded.
