The uranium from Malargüe will be extracted and sent to the United States

Through the company Jaguar Uranium Corp., the Huemul mine is being reactivated. Washington is securing uranium, copper, and vanadium for its energy and military complex, consolidating a sacrifice zone in southern Mendoza.

Argentine uranium, a fundamental resource for our nuclear sovereignty, will be at the mercy of the geoeconomic interests of the U.S.

The deployment of the Monroe Doctrine in Argentina has entered a new and dangerous phase . It's no longer just about lithium in the north or oil in Patagonia; now, the target is uranium and other critical minerals near the city of Malargüe, Mendoza . The diplomatic alignment between Buenos Aires and Washington has granted a "new status" to local deposits, transforming sovereign geological wealth into a national security asset for the United States.

The return of a ghost: The Huemul project

Jaguar Uranium Corp. has formally launched an aggressive exploration plan at the Huemul project , a 27,700-hectare area in the Malargüe department . This district is not new to mining history: it was the site of the country's first uranium mine between 1955 and 1975, operated by the National Atomic Energy Commission .

Today, under the control of foreign capital and with the backing of the pro-mining provincial government, efforts are underway to reactivate this polymetallic deposit, which offers an irresistible strategic "combo" for the Pentagon:

Colonial financing and local complicity

The advance on Malargüe is not an isolated event . It falls within the framework agreement signed between Argentina and the United States to secure the supply of critical minerals. To guarantee that these raw materials flow unimpeded north, the White House has made its direct financing tools available: the Export-Import Bank of Argentina (EXIM) and the Development Finance Corporation (DFC) . These entities are not seeking Argentine development, but rather aiming to bolster investments in regions with proven geological potential to safeguard US supply chains.

At the local level, the Ministry of Energy and Environment of Mendoza has signed a collaboration agreement with Jaguar Uranium , establishing a framework of technical and legal assistance that facilitates the operator's progress. Although the company still needs to obtain specific permits for uranium mining, the favorable business climate created by the provincial and national administrations suggests that the regulatory barriers will be mere administrative formalities.

A window of "opportunity" or delivery

While mainstream media outlets speak of a "window of opportunity" for Malargüe, reality from a sovereign perspective indicates the opposite. The reactivation of Huemul under foreign control represents:

1.   The foreignization of energy resources: Uranium, the base resource of our nuclear sovereignty, is left at the mercy of foreign geoeconomic interests.

2.   Environmental risk in critical zone: Deep exploration and future mining exploitation in the vicinity of Malargüe occur under a scheme where "reciprocal technical assistance" between company and State tends to dilute environmental controls.

3.   US National Security on Argentine soil: The participation of the International Development Finance Corporation confirms that these projects are considered strategic by Washington, which limits any future room for maneuver for the Argentine State over its own resources.

The map of plunder continues to be completed. With the Trump administration and the acquiescence of local governments that see extractivism as the only way out, Argentina is surrendering its uranium reserves on the altar of the Monroe Doctrine. Malargüe is not a "mining hub"; it is just another piece on the colonial chessboard of an empire that is coming for everything.
