The contradictions of Celeste Giardinelli on her trip to the Malvinas promoted by the usurpers

Despite trying to justify the trip as an act of respect towards the victims of the war, her arguments are implausible. The decision to ignore her father's advice and participate in the British programme reveals her inconsistency and a painful lack of respect for the memory of those who fought for Argentine sovereignty. After being criticised, Giardinelli closed her account on X.

Celeste Giardinelli's participation in the British programme to visit the Malvinas Islands is not in line with her reasons, especially after her father's advice and the closure of her account at X.

Celeste Giardinelli 's recent visit to the Malvina Islands , granted by the British embassy , sparked intense debate and criticism in Argentina . Presented as a cultural exchange , her participation in the contest “ Getting to know my neighbours in the Malvina Islands ” raises serious doubts about her intentions .

Despite attempts to justify his journey as an act of respect towards the victims of war , his story is riddled with contradictions and inconsistencies .

To be accepted into a programme endorsed by the colonial power , it was clear that she needed to align herself with British terms and narrative , which contradicted her supposed loyalty to the claim of sovereignty .

The young woman posted a thread on her X account, highlighting her experience and career in digital media , describing herself as a defender of science , human rights and the environment . She said that after an invitation from a friend about the program, she considered the possibility of traveling , considering that “ setting foot on Argentine soil was always a topic that interested me .”

Giardinelli revealed that she received strong advice from her father , renowned writer Mempo Giardinelli , who expressed concern that the trip could harm her .

By ignoring this warning and moving forward, his decision was disrespectful towards the fallen , where at no point did he really honor their memory, although he tried to justify his decision with arguments about learning and coexistence .

Giardinelli 's return to Argentina was followed by a great stir on social media . While some praised her for her bravery in visiting a place significant to Argentine history , others questioned the logic of her trip .

Criticism focused on her participation in a programme representing British interests , which means accepting the usurpers ' narrative . Accusations of “ espionage ” began to emerge from both sides, according to Giardinelli herself, which led her to close her account on X.

Throughout his thread, Giardinelli claimed to wish to honor fallen soldiers and fall in love with the islands' flora and fauna , but his actions weaken his statement of respect for the fallen, as no genuine connection is made to the memory of those who fought in the war .

He also mentioned that his objective was to generate discussions and exchanges , but this is framed in a context where his commitment to the Malvinas Question is hardly credible and it is well known that the usurpers of the South Atlantic do not allow any type of reference or behavior that questions the usurpation of the Argentine archipelagos .

In this context, Giardinelli 's participation in the British embassy programme was a betrayal of the cause and an insult to the memory of those who gave their lives for Argentine sovereignty .

His account not only raises questions about his motivation , but also highlights his contradictions and the unrest his decision has caused among Argentines.
