The British colonial government in the Malvina Islands is intensifying its propaganda strategy. While calling for elections in December, it is distributing a "manual" seeking to legitimize the illegitimate occupation of Argentine soil, usurped by force since 1833.
The informational material, which explains everything from the role of the members of the illegitimate Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to the Islands Plan , is presented as a "vital expression of self-determination." However, this narrative hides a reality of imposition and colonialism. The simulation of democracy, without political parties, is nothing more than a facade designed to perpetuate foreign control.
The manual emphasizes that "every vote cast reinforces our right to self-determination and demonstrates our commitment to democratic governance." But it deliberately omits any reference to the sovereignty dispute with Argentina, the British government's role in defense, foreign policy, and financing, and the military presence that underlies the entire administrative structure.
The supposed autonomy they promote clashes with the reality of a forced occupation, sustained by a military base with more than 1,200 troops and nuclear capability. The UN demands bilateral negotiations. The sovereignty of the Malvinas Islands is not discussed at the colonial ballot box.
In this way, elections are an administrative act to perpetuate an illegal situation, ignoring history and international law. Democracy, when exercised in a usurped territory, is merely an instrument of colonialism with ballot boxes.
