The NATO base in the Malvinas has a new Commander

This is Colonel Paddy Farrell, who until 2024 served as Commanding Officer of the 7th Parachute Regiment of the Royal Horse Artillery of the United Kingdom. He replaced Colonel Charlie Harmer.

Paddy Farrell, has the same surname as Edelmiro Farrell, the Argentine military man and dictator who ruled between 1944 and 1946.

 

The Royal Artillery Regiment Headquarters, based at the NATO base in the usurped Malvina Islands, last week said goodbye to British Colonel Charlie Harmer , who was promoted to the rank of Brigadier. In his place, Colonel Paddy Farrell took over, who until 2024 served as Commander of the 7th Parachute Regiment of the Royal Horse Artillery.

He has the same surname as Edelmiro Farrell , the Argentine military man and dictator who served as president of the Argentine Nation between 1944 and 1946, during the so-called Revolution of '43. The third of the so-called "de facto presidents" that the country had during the 20th century.

In a message of thanks, the Regiment acknowledged Harmer’s contributions and wished him success in his next assignment. “Thank you for everything, Colonel Charlie, and we wish you the best for the future,” the announcement posted on social media read.
