A contingent of Malvinas War veterans and their families will arrive this afternoon at 4 p.m. at Ushuaia International Airport, Malvinas, Argentina.
His return, after a week of touring the islands, comes amid the controversy surrounding the LATAM airline flight, which refuses to recognize the airport's official name on its global online sales platform .
The group, originally from the Buenos Aires city of La Matanza , traveled to the islands last Sunday, September 14, boarding the same flight that has sparked intense controversy and an escalation of institutional condemnation in recent days.
The airline's omission of the name "Malvinas Argentinas," a clear act of conceding to British demands, has been condemned by the Tierra del Fuego government, the municipality of Ushuaia, and the Chamber of Deputies.
In a gesture of sovereign reaffirmation and a warm welcome, the contingent will be greeted by the authorities and members of the Malvinas Islands Veterans Center in Ushuaia and by the city's Malvinas Secretary, Dante Ascili.
Both the municipality and the veterans center have called on the citizens of Ushuaia to come to the airport at 4:00 p.m. and participate in the welcome for the heroes returning from the islands to the legitimate capital of the Malvinas Islands.
