The launch of the “Municipalities for Malvinas” campaign took place on Thursday, August 8, at the FAM plenary meeting held in the city of La Rioja. Martín Pérez was in charge of the presentation.
“The logic of de-Malvinization, decapitalization of the State and foreignization of strategic resources of the national government goes against the interests of Argentines. Faced with this scenario, the municipalities assume the responsibility of defending the interests of our communities and joining forces around an agenda in defense of National Sovereignty ,” Pérez said to his fellow mayors of cities throughout the country.
In this regard, the mayor stressed that "this national campaign by the FAM seeks to promote the defense of the Malvinas Cause in every corner of our Argentina by replicating policies such as those we have already implemented in Río Grande."
Pérez explained that the same "has as its axes the Promotion of Mandatory, Periodic and Permanent Training in the Question of the Malvinas Islands (Law 27.671), adherence to the training and capacity building of officials and teams of the Municipalities; the development of a communication strategy and circulation of material to enhance the work of the municipalities of the whole country in relation to the Malvinas Cause; and the Construction of a Network of Municipalities for Sovereignty and the formation of a federal and interdisciplinary team of referents."
The Secretariat of “Malvinas and National Sovereignty” is the area of coordination and political action of the municipalities to strengthen the Malvinas Cause as a State policy, a banner of unity for our cities and a strategic agenda for the Nation.
